We are delighted to share the news that New Deal Europe has been selected by Visit Europe to lead their campaign Essential Balkans, promoting this hidden gem of Europe in the USA and Canada. Having previously visited Montenegro, our final preparation was an extensive fam trip this month across Serbia and Romania, brilliantly organised by our ‘Essential Balkans’ partners.
In July we begin our promotion in North America and we are excited to be meeting our partners there to share our experiences of the region. We are really looking forward to being ‘over the pond' again, actively promoting the 'Essential Balkans’ offer.

The team of Balkan focused New Deal Europe Marketplace and Forum, taking place in London on 4th April, have urged the travel trade to get behind the countries bordering Ukraine, and show solidarity during the current crisis.
“We have exhibitors coming from Romania and Moldova, countries which border Ukraine and are currently receiving refugees”, said New Deal Europe co-founder, Robert Dee.
“Like us, their tourism industry has suffered from two years of Covid, but it has now received an additional blow. Therefore, it’s really important that the UK travel trade, representing one of the most resilient customer bases in the world, shows solidarity at this time, and turns up en masse at the New Deal Europe live event on 4th April to meet with these delegates. This will send out a clear message of support and will be widely reported in the region. We all feel powerless in this situation, but this is one action we can take which we know will make a difference.”
Tine Murn, New Deal Europe’s other co-founder added, “Registrations for our event are coming in every day. We have just returned from a visit to seven countries of the region and interest is very high. It’s great to see that people are engaging with destinations beyond the honeypots of Croatia, Greece and Slovenia, and have full confidence in the long term future of the region as a sustainable tourism destination in the heart of Europe. We are looking forward to hosting a great event on 4th April.”
Registrations are coming in daily for the New Deal Europe Marketplace and Forum, live in London on 4th April.

'UK tourists head to Albania for ‘sense of exotic’ without long-haul flight'
Last week we were asked by The Guardian to provide more insights on the rising interest from UK holidaymakers for one of the New Deal Europe countries - Albania.
We are seeing a growing interest in the Balkans by British holidaymakers who have an appetite for new and little known corners of Europe.
In turn, search engine reports show that there is increased online activity indicating a strong online interest in New Deal Europe and its 12 country destinations. As a result our partners are seeing a rise in bookings.
We are very proud to make a small contribution in highlighting Albania, one of the most fascinating countries in the region to the wonderful people at The Guardian.

Carlos Cendra Cruz, Mabrian Technologies from Spain
This week we met with Carlos Cendra Cruz, Sales & Marketing Director of Mabrian Technologies, at FITUR 2022 in Madrid, one of the first travel trade events of the year. New Deal Europe has partnered with several organisations which we believe can really make a difference to tourism in the Greater Balkans region, and Mabrian is one of these. They gather and analyse data, which helps tourist boards and tourism enterprises to make better informed decisions, and guaranteeing that they target their marketing resources to the right areas. Crucially for us, they are very focused on sustainability in tourism and are one of the first companies to develop ways to measure this. Read interview.
